Leather toe pieces are triangular cut sections of leather that are used to rebuild worn toe-portions of soles. Toe pieces are often used as an alternative to resoling or to build up the soles prior to applying rubber sole protectors.
See Examples Send PhotosThe rubber tips attached to the ends of the heelpieces. We replace worn rubber heel tips with new custom fitted tips. The new tips are attached, smoothed and the heelpieces are professionally finished with a renovator.
See Examples Send PhotosWe add rubber sole protectors to the front-half of leather soles. These provide slip resistance, watertightness and preserve the leather. Protective soles are crafted to be flush with the existing soles and finished with an edge dressing.
See Examples Send PhotosHeels are made up of a full layer of rubber or a combination of rubber and leather attached to a heel block. We replace worn heels with matching toplifts or combination rubber / leather heels.
See Examples Send PhotosWe add toe plates or taps (Lulu and Triumph) to leather soles to prevent the soles wearing. Toe plates are crafted to be flush with the existing soles and affixed with screws which are sunk into the leather.
See Examples Send PhotosWe repair or resole shoes with new half or full leather JR soles. The new soles are smoothed, waxed and professionally finished with an edge dressing. Leather shoes can also be resoled with leather toe pieces and sole protectors.
See Examples Send PhotosWe resole shoes with full rubber Vibram soles. This service is available to replace the existing soles with either flat rubber soles or pre-moulded Vibram sole units.
See Examples Send PhotosWe re-cover, re-wrap and restore scuffed or scratched leather heelpieces. If the plastic heelpieces are damaged we can replace the entire heelpiece and re-wrap with matching leather.
See Examples Send PhotosWe replace worn or deteriorated insoles with new insoles cut from a matching section of leather and redyed to replicate the originals. A layer of foam padding is also added to the insoles for comfort and support.
See Examples Send PhotosThe leather lining spanning the inside of the shoe is susceptible to wear and tear over time. We replace worn, damaged or deteriorated linings with matching leather or material.
See Examples Send PhotosLeather is a flexible material and can be stretched or widened. We stretch shoes with mechanised equipment up to half a size larger. We can also alter leather shoes by hand to achieve a custom size.
See Examples Send PhotosWe restitch the interior and upper of leather shoes to repair any wear and tear. Our wide selection of threads allows for custom matching of thickness and colour for a seamless repair.
See Examples Send PhotosWe use a supporting layer of leather to patch any holes between the soles and uppers or tears in the shoes. The new layer of leather is used to reinforce and strengthen the area from an unexposed side.
See Examples Send PhotosWe replace lost, missing or damaged hardware on shoes. Examples may include eyelets, buckles and studs. We can also reattach or repair existing hardware on leather shoes.
See Examples Send PhotosWe replace shoe zips with matching zips. A new zip is selected that matches the profile of the original hardware and colour of the fabric and fitted from the inside of the shoe.
See Examples Send PhotosWe polish, nourish and shine leather shoes. The shoes are cleaned of grime before colour-matched Saphir Medaille D'or polish and wax are applied to buff out minor scuffs, scratches and imperfections.
See Examples Send PhotosProfessional water protection and stain resistance for suede and leather shoes. We only apply high quality silicon-free waterproofing agents that do not change the colour or complexion of the leather.
See Examples Send PhotosWe clean and removed stains from leather shoes. Our deep cleaning procedure involves removing any marks or stains on the leather with extractive techniques before restoring the surface with cleaning and conditioning agents.
See Examples Send PhotosWe refinish, redye or recolour leather shoes that are discoloured, scratched or stained. The dye is custom-matched and the finish is reapplied by hand before the leather is nourished and waterproofed to prevent colour migration.
See Examples Send PhotosWe redye shoes to a completely new colour. The original finish of the shoe is stripped before the new dye is applied. Our dyes are applied by hand as opposed to sprays for a natural and refined finish to the leather.

Repairs:
All efforts will be made to ensure that repair and restoration jobs are completed to a high standard. Evans employs only highly skilled leather craftsmen and items entrusted to our workshop are handled with the highest care. The repair processes recommended for any item are selected to suit the nature of the leather or material, the structure and condition of the item.
Evans cannot assume responsibility for the inherent weakness of, or defects in the leather or materials that are not readily apparent prior to processing. This includes dyeing jobs where the finish will be highly dependent on the quality and condition of the leather.
Evans will not be held responsible for any of the following processes:
While we strive to restore items to their original state, it is not always possible to return items to factory condition. Our goal is therefore to restore items to the best condition possible. In addition, some materials and hardware are proprietary of certain brands and there are regulations against using these materials for our repairs. In such cases materials and hardware will be substituted with suitable replacements of similar quality and aesthetics.

Please check with your shipping provider for more information regarding insurance policies and guarantees.

It is highly recommended that customers inspect items carefully upon completion of their order. Please notify Evans customer support within 24 hours of any complaints, concerns or queries regarding the item. All repairs left with Evans, unless otherwise specified, are subject to a workmanship guarantee for a period of three months following completion of the order.
Our workmanship guarantee is subject to the following conditions.
All returned items are put through a number of inspection checks. If the returned item satisfies our criteria, it will be processed as a new order and finished according to the original job description.
