Our Heel Repair Services

Our heel services include rubber or leather-and-rubber heel replacement, heel tips, reattaching sound heel blocks, shank replacement and new veneer coverings. We also re-cover leather heels, with cleaning and colour restoration where needed. Send photos of your shoes or boots to our team today for a quote.

Shoe and Boot Heel Repairs | FAQs

We offer colour-matched Vibram rubber heels or a combination of three-quarter rubber and one-quarter leather. We generally recommend following the original shoe design. A full rubber heel is an option if you want to protect the entire walking surface of the heel from wear.

If wear is confined to the surface that touches the ground, replacement heel tips or toplifts may be sufficient. Damage to the block or heelpiece needs a different assessment. We can replace damaged plastic heelpieces and re-wrap them in matching leather, subject to the shoe’s construction.

We re-cover scuffed or torn leather heelpieces and restore their colour where suitable. We also apply new veneer coverings that mimic stacked leather, colour-matched to closely resemble the original finish. The available material and condition of the heel affect the match; an identical colour or texture is not guaranteed.

We can securely reattach a loose heel block when it remains structurally sound. A snapped or damaged heel needs assessment to determine whether replacement is suitable. We also replace shanks, the internal metal supports between the insole and outer sole that help give high heels their structure.

The quote depends on whether your shoes need replacement tips, new walking surfaces, covering restoration or structural work. Send photos showing the whole shoe and the damaged heel to our team for a quote. We can advise whether a workshop assessment is needed.

You can bring your shoes or boots to our Melbourne workshop for a consultation, or arrange repairs by post from anywhere in Australia. Send photos to our team first if you would like help getting started with a postal repair.
