Leather Bag Dyeing & Colour Changes

Leather Bag Dyeing

Leather bag dyeing can give a suitable handbag a completely new colour. We clean, prepare and recolour selected smooth leathers, assessing each bag’s material and finish before confirming whether a colour change is suitable.

Our Bag Colour Change Service

Our colour change service includes thorough cleaning, decolourising and stripping the original finish, followed by staining and hand-applying multiple pigment coats. Choose from our in-house colours or supply a physical sample for custom matching. Send photos of your bag to our team today for a quote.

Leather Bag Dyeing & Colour Changes | FAQs

Our complete colour change service is suitable for certain smooth leathers only, with assessment required before we confirm the work. Patent leather cannot be recoloured through our care service. Suede and nubuck restoration enhances their existing colour rather than being covered by this smooth-leather colour change service.

We can custom match to a physical colour sample, such as a swatch or garment, or you can choose from our in-house colour collection. A physical sample is required for custom matching. Send photos of your bag and describe your preferred colour so we can assess the proposed change.

We quote after assessing your bag’s material, condition and the work required. Send photos of the bag and any worn or damaged areas, along with your preferred colour. Let us know if you want custom matching, as we will need a physical colour sample.

Cleaning treats dirt and stains, while colour restoration addresses faded, discoloured or scratched areas with colour-matched treatment. A complete colour change creates a different overall colour on suitable smooth leather. We can assess which approach suits your bag; cleaning does not guarantee complete stain removal.

For suitable smooth leather, we offer colour-matched treatment of discoloured, stained or scratched areas through our Bag Spa restoration service. This may suit localised wear rather than a complete colour change. Significantly aged, dark or dry sections may need replacement rather than restoration.
