Shoe & Boot Stitching Repairs

Stitching & Seam Repairs

Stitching repairs address loose threads and opened seams. At our Melbourne workshop, we restitch leather uppers and interiors, matching thread colour and thickness as closely as possible to the original, with suitability depending on the surrounding material and construction.

Our Shoe Restitching Service

We repair upper stitching and internal seams on leather footwear, with concealed leather reinforcement for suitable torn areas. Access may require opening the lining or removing the sole, depending on construction. Send photos of your shoes or boots to our team today for a quote.

Shoe & Boot Stitching Repairs | FAQs

We restitch leather shoe and boot uppers as well as internal seams. Whether restitching is suitable depends on the condition of the surrounding material and access to the damaged area. Send photos showing the seam and the whole shoe so we can assess the work needed.

We match thread colour and thickness to replicate the original stitching as closely as possible. An exact match or invisible repair cannot be promised. For distinctive contrast stitching, send a close-up so we can assess the match and discuss the likely appearance.

Pricing depends on the construction of your footwear and how accessible the repair area is. Some seams require us to open the lining or remove the sole to reach them. Send photos to our team for a quote; we can advise whether an in-person assessment is also needed.

Torn leather may need reinforcement rather than restitching alone. Where suitable, we use a supporting leather patch on the unexposed side to strengthen the area. We assess the surrounding leather before recommending this approach, as stitching alone may not address the damage.

We can restitch internal seams where the lining is suitable for repair. If the lining itself is worn or deteriorated, we also offer lining replacement using matching leather or material. We assess its condition to determine whether seam repair or replacement is the more suitable option.

You can bring your shoes or boots to our Melbourne workshop or post them from anywhere in Australia. Send photos to our team to get started, including a close-up of the damaged stitching and a wider view of the footwear.
