Leather Jacket Alterations & Sleeve Adjustments | FAQs

We can take in sleeves or shoulders and assess whole-jacket resizing. We also assess widening or narrowing at seams and changes to the hem. The jacket’s construction and the extent of the adjustment determine what is suitable. We reshape and reassemble the garment with the aim of maintaining its original lines and finish.

Yes. In-person fittings are required, typically two to three, to check accuracy and comfort as we adjust the jacket. Although we offer postal leather jacket repairs, alterations require attendance for fittings at our Melbourne workshop rather than relying on posted measurements alone.

Send photos of your jacket and explain the fit changes you would like for a quote. We assess each garment individually. Final pricing depends on its construction and the level of adjustment required, rather than a single rate for every sleeve adjustment or resize.

We also offer jacket zip repairs, pocket lining replacement and partial or complete relining. Let us know about these issues when you enquire about alterations so we can assess both the fit changes and repair work. Replacement lining is selected to suit the garment’s original weight and structure.

We work with smooth leather, suede and vintage jackets. Alteration suitability is assessed individually, taking the garment’s construction and requested changes into account. We also assess alterations to other leather garments, rather than assuming every item can be resized in the same way.
