Boot Zip Repairs & Replacement

Repairs for Worn and Broken Boot Zips

We repair and replace faulty boot zips, from ankle boots to knee-high styles. At our Melbourne workshop, we assess separating zips, damaged teeth and torn zip fabric to determine whether a runner repair or full replacement is needed.

Our Boot Zip Repair Services

Our boot zip services include runner replacement following physical assessment, full zip replacement matched as closely as possible, and colour-matched leather zip tags. We can also assess adding zips to pull-on boots. Send photos of your boots to our team today for a quote.

Boot Zip Repairs & Replacement | FAQs

If the zip is fully intact but not working properly, we may be able to replace only the runner, also called the slider. We need a physical assessment to confirm this. Broken teeth, torn zip fabric or significant rust or corrosion require a full zip replacement.

We match replacement zips as closely as possible for size, shape and colour. The original puller or tag can usually be transferred to the new zip or runner. If it cannot be retained, we use a generic, non-branded replacement. An exact match is not guaranteed.

Send photos of your boots and the damaged zip to our team for a quote. We can discuss whether replacement is needed or a runner repair may be possible, although runner suitability requires physical assessment. Full boot zip replacements are quoted as a pair.

For full zip replacement, we always replace both zips, even if only one has failed. This maintains functional and visual symmetry across the pair. A runner-only repair is a separate option when the existing zip is intact, subject to physical assessment.

Yes. If a leather zip tag is missing or too damaged to repair, we can craft a new one using colour-matched leather. We replicate stitching, edge waxing and any necessary hardware as closely as possible to the original, rather than promising an identical branded part.

You can visit our Melbourne workshop or post your boots from anywhere in Australia. Send photos to our team to get started. Photos help us discuss the work, but we must inspect the boots in person before confirming whether a runner-only repair is suitable.
