Belt Repairs & Shortening

Belt Repairs and Fit Adjustments

We repair and shorten belts to improve their fit and address worn or damaged components. We assess the leather, construction and hardware to recommend suitable work, from extra holes to reinforcing separated layers.

Our Belt Repair Services

Our belt services include shortening, adding holes, buckle repair or replacement, and regluing and reinforcing separated layers with rewaxed edges. We can also assess relining where appropriate. Hardware options depend on an in-person inspection. Send photos of your belt to our team today for a quote.

Belt Repairs & Shortening | FAQs

Extra holes may suit a small fit adjustment. If you need more than two additional holes, we recommend shortening instead. Shortening usually requires an in-store fitting, although you can supply a sample belt of your desired length. We can add round or slit-style holes, but cannot guarantee an identical match to machine-made originals.

We assess damaged or missing buckles case by case. Where possible, we aim to repair the original hardware, particularly on designer belts. We do not stock branded hardware, and cannot guarantee repair or replacement options until we have inspected your belt in person.

For suitable belts, we separate the layers, remove old glue, replace the internal reinforcement, reglue and rewax all edges. We can add perimeter stitching for extra security, including where none existed before. Significant stretching or perished leather can rule out this repair; relining may be an assessed alternative.

Send photos of your belt and describe the damage or fit adjustment you need so we can provide a quote. Include the affected area and buckle to help us understand the work. Hardware repairs require an in-person assessment before we can confirm what is possible.
